The 13th European Network of Forensic Science Institutes Fingerprint Working Group Annual meeting has been hosted in Ankara by ENFSI EFPWG with the cooperation of the Forensic Laboratories of the Turkish Gendarmerie (JKDB). The event traditionally gathers the official representatives from the European Forensic Institutes part of the ENFSI network, guests and representatives from the industries active in the field of fingerprints. It was recognised by the MC of the COST Action IC1106 that the ENFSI EFPWG Annual meeting was the best arena where to reach the forensic practitioners throughout Europe. Therefore an half a day Workshop on COST Action IC1106 ?Integrating Biometrics and Forensics for the Digital Age? was organized locally by Dr. Aldo Mattei during the AM.
This conference aims at presenting and discussing scientific research undertaken to address any of the challenges set by forensic science for aspects of biometric technology such as sample quality, available data or calibration. We therefore specifically welcome researchers from both the forensic science and the biometric technology communities that are interested to try and understand each other’s motives and challenges, and are willing to bridge the potential gap between these communities due to different standpoints, terminology and experience.
CMS’2013 is the 14th Conference in the “Communications and Multimedia Security” series. The series is a joint effort of IFIP Technical Committees TC6 (Communication Systems) and TC11 (Security and Protection in Information Processing Systems).
The conference provides a forum for engineers and scientists in information security. Both state-of-the-art issues and practical experiences as well as new trends in these areas will be once more the focus of interest just like at preceding conferences.
The topics of the conference include but are not limited to: Biometric standards and interoperability, multimodal and multi-biometrics (sensor, modality, sample, feature, score and decision fusion), security analysis of biometric components or systems, on-card comparison, fake resistance, liveness detection, aging of reference data, template protection, derivation of cryptographic keys from biometrics, biometric middleware, user interface design for biometric systems, biometric performance measurement, sample quality, best practices, usability, emerging applications, ethical, legal and socio-technological aspects, biometrics for public administrations.
The 14th ACM Multimedia and Security Workshop (MMSec) will be held at the University of Warwick in Coventry, UK, on September 6 – 7, 2012. Since its inauguration in 1998, MMSec has been intended for disseminating knowledge in the areas of multimedia security such as data protection, multimedia forensics, hidden communications and biometrics, as well as topics in privacy, policy and legal issues in relation to multimedia security and forensics in real world applications. We expect the workshop to facilitate cross-fertilisation of ideas among key stakeholders from academia, industry, practitioners and government agencies around the globe.
The 6th IAPR International Conference on Biometrics (ICB-2013), technically co-sponsored by both IEEE (Biometrics Council) and IAPR (Technical Committee on Biometrics – TC4), will have a broad scope and invites papers that advance biometric technologies, sensor design, feature extraction and matching algorithms, analysis of security and privacy, and evaluation of social impact of biometrics technology. Topics will include biometric systems based on fingerprint, iris, face, voice, hand, handwriting, gait and other modalities as well as biometric fusion and emerging biometrics based on novel sensing technologies.
This meeting includes Plenary conferences (invited speakers from Biometrics and Forensics), General assembly of the BioSecure Association, MC meeting and WG meetings.
Special Session BiForD – Biometrics & Forensics & De-identification and Privacy Protection at MIPRO 2014 – 37th International Convention (jointly organized with IC 1206)
The 37th International ICT Convention MIPRO 2014 is traditionally dedicated to information and communication technology, electronics, microelectronics, renewable energy sources, ecology along with a new and high technologies in general. We are convinced that MIPRO 2014 will attract more than a thousand participants from commerce, science, education, state and local administration, government and local self-government from Croatia and abroad.
